What is Rapé?
Rapé (pronounced ha-PAY) - is a sacred shamanic medicine with profound healing effects. It is often made from several Amazonian medicinal plants. The core of most rape snuffs is the tobacco species Nicotiana rustica, also known as Mapacho. Rapé is blown into each of the nostrils through a ceremonial pipe called a 'tepi' by a shaman or practitioner.
